UNWANTED: BEING UNFAIR

          As a woman, I believe that all people should be treated similarly and unhampered by artificial barriers or prejudices.

         "I am-somebody. I maybe poor, but I am-somebody! I maybe on welfare but I am-somebody! I maybe uneducated but I am-somebody! I must be, I'm God's child. I must be respected and protected. I am beautiful! I am-somebody! Soul Power!" This is a very true to heart quote of Jesse Jackson. Being fair everytime in everything is what people wants especially women.Whoever we are in this world_ poor, stupid, physically ugly,etch., we deserve to be seen by our fellow as a human in the great society. We are all creatures of God. Creatures who are all born naked so it means that we must also live life equally with no discrimination. 

          Nowadays, the power of 'Equal right, Equal opportunity' is becoming stronger for most people are already aware that such policy exists. The power of men and women is the same. Not like the old times where women were really looked upon as lower individuals. They were discriminated. They were not even given a chance to prove themselves that they could also do something great because they were not permitted and allowed to go to school and learn. I don't understand why they treated women like that. We are all important to the continuity of life. But that's only a part of the past, it's all different now. Many women were already proved themselves in many fields_ in the study of science and mathematics, in arts, business, literature and in politics. Many were already written in the book of history. Many have shown themselves to the whole world and proved to men that they were not the only one who could do very good things.

          "Equal rights, Equal Opportunity." This must always prevail in every end. It's very important in having a fair government and community. Isn't sad to be unfair to others or maybe victim of unfair society?

DEFINITELY POSSIBLE

    Mother Earth we live in is the only habitation for living things in this very wide universe. We have the so called interconnectedness in science_ that every organisms, living or not are naturally connected to one another in able to exist. Plants, animals, and other organism are found inside our planet. All of these are very useful to humans in everyday life. Plant's primary use to the ecosystem is being the producer of food. It provides us our food, medicine, clothing and shelter. Animals have the same role with the humans because they are also depending on what the ecosystem can give them.

     Men are becoming so greedy today. They are not satisfied in just getting what they need, but also to get what they want. Most of the time, they do whatever it takes and because of this, they are already ruining the planet. It's not bad to dream for more modernized world but what is really wrong is to destroy the environment. Everyday, we use chemicals but are we not aware that these destroy the earth's ozone layer? Or maybe, we are just pretending that we are all blind and deaf. Climate change is the biggest proof of these irresponsible acts. The world is already changing for worse. The glaciers in the two poles are melting so fast and there will come a time that the resulting water will flood us all and will result to death. What we're doing is slowly killing us. Stop destroying Mother Earth. Start a single move and surely it will be a great help. The very common first step is following the 3Rs_ Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. This act will avoid and lessen pollution in air, water and land.

   There are many planets in the universe but only one can provide us all the things that we need to have life. If this one becomes totally ruined, our children, grandchildren and many more of our own next generations will not have a home. If we all do our part to save mother earth, it is definitely possible.

Humans sometimes demand for stability of some things around him/her but he/she can never get it in his/her entire existence in the world. A very popular quote goes like this “Everything in the world is constant, except change.” This tells us that we can never delete the fact that we will always see and feel change in our lives. 

“Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.”  This very true to life quote by King Whitney Jr. took my mind into realization. In every day that God created for us, we can always expect the possibility of having change in everything. The whole body of humans in the world will always face this differently because of different personality and beliefs. For a person with a very strong and good personality, he will always take the positive side effect of change but for a person not in the state of good thinking, taking the negative effect has more possibility at first. 

Within me, I always wanted the positive side. As a student and a teenager, I have gone from various changes in life and I know that there will be more and heavier changes that will come as I travel my time. There were lots of consequences that I’ve gone through and during these times, I admit that I almost lose hope and give up to those heavy problems but in the end, courage will always be there because of my love ones. They will always take the characters of people who act as my inspiration in life and encourage me to say “I am ready to face changes!”

For a family, it’s the best to accept changes to have a good and satisfying relationship to one another. It’s very valuable in a community to have good families because these will build a progressive country that everyone is wishing and hoping for. Here in the Philippines, we, the Filipinos are hungry for change as a hope that we will have the life that we always wanted.

        Nothing in the world is permanent; there will always be the word change. We are stupid when we ask anything to be stable, but surely we're still more stupid not to take delight in it while we have it. We must see change as an essence of existence.

REFLECTION

During the Second Grading Period, our ICT subject focused on the use and importance of tags to the web. At first, I don’t know how the web displays pages until the lesson has finished. The web contains HTML tags which serve as display instructions in all its pages. We were also taught on the functions of different tags and what will they do to  every word, sentence or paragraphs. Our teacher gave us total of seven activities about html tags.

Placing tags to each word is not that hard. The tags are easy to memorize including their uses. The part there which challenged me is that it consume much of time to finish one activity especially to activity no. 7. Another problem is that I was not able to put a slash to the end tag of the title that’s why I was worried about it.

I’ve faced these small problems by being patient. I‘ve finished the work even if it took a lot of time.

Moving on, I will be more patient and try to be more carefull next time about my works so that I will finish them beautifully. I’m sure next grading we will have another topic and I hope I will understand every part of it.

PROMOTING DIGITAL LITERACY THROUGH ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

Technology plays a very important role in making a new and better world. Technology relates the knowledge and utilization of tools, methods and techniques so that you can assist a greater purpose just like resolving difficulties or even producing life less difficult and better. Its significance upon humans is actually great because technology enables them to adapt to environmental surroundings. The development of high technology such as personal computer technology's Internet and the telephone helps beat connection barriers and also link the space between individuals all over the world. Inside a wider perception, technology impacts organizations within the development of sophisticated financial systems, creating existence easier in order to more and more people that have access to this kind of technology.

To learn how to use products of technology is very important. The use of English as a language is the most significant tool for this. Digital literacy is the ability to locate, organize, understand, evaluate, and analyze information using digital technology. It involves a working knowledge of current high-technology, and an understanding of how it can be used. Digitally literate people can communicate and work more efficiently, especially with those who possess the same knowledge and skills. Gadgets contain basic instructions on their screens that will guide their users on how to use them so if a person wants to handle and use these, he must know the universal language first.

Everyone is capable of dealing with the products of technology such as computers, cell phones, iPods, etch. Everyone should be aware on how to use these in daily lives. Everyone should go along the flow  of the modern world. Let’s promote Digital Literacy through English Proficiency!

THE MIGHTYNESS OF TWO (CHEMERGY: CHEMISTRY AND SCIENCE CLUBBING IN SYNERGY)

           In our daily lives, we apply and use the different concepts of science.  Everything around our community is a result of studying and doing research related to the subject. New materials are being discovered everyday that will help technology make huge leaps in the field of industry because living and non- living organism in our environment are being studied.

          Chemistry is another helpful tool to attain our progress.  Even if it has a reputation for being a complicated and boring science, but for the most part, this reputation is undeserved. If you take classes in chemistry, you'll apply math and logic, which can make studying chemistry a challenge if you are weak in those areas. However, anyone can understand the basics of how things work... and that's the study of chemistry. Everyone can and should understand basic chemistry.

          The real importance of Chemistry is that it serves as the interface to practically all of the other sciences, as well as to many other areas of human endeavor. For this reason, Chemistry is said to be the central science. It's important to understand chemistry if you are studying any of the sciences because all of the sciences involve matter and the interactions between types of matter. In this case, the power of science and chemistry must combine and this act is called synergy.  Synergy comes from the Greek word synergia, meaning joint work and cooperative action.

          The year’s theme for the science month celebration is CHEMERGY: Chemistry and Science Clubbing in Synergy. This promotes the importance of putting Science together with Chemistry. Science and Chemistry must be in synergy to produce results greater than the sum of the possible outcome when this two work separately. This means that synergy is created when things work in concert together to create an outcome that is in some way of more value than the total of what the individual inputs is.

If Scientist and Chemists work at the same laboratory, more useful things will be created. We're all chemists and special scientist. We use chemicals every day and perform chemical reactions without thinking much about them. So we must not take this for granted. Let us move through the use of these studies so that we could make our way of living more progress in the future. This is a study of everything!

Heroes in Every Season

         Heroes are everywhere in this world. In movies, they are those who save the lives of billions of people because they have super powers. But here in the real life, they are not those who have super powers, but they are those who have super kind hearts. They are our fellows of distinguished courage or ability, and are admired for their brave deeds and noble qualities.      

         There are a lot of heroes arising. But for me, when we talk of communities, teachers are the best qualified to be honored as true heroes. I believe that a man doesn't need to be like Superman, Batman, Super Inggo, Dr. Jose Rizal, Bonifacio, Mabini, etch to be called a "hero". A man doesn’t need to fight thousands of people or write grievous novels and sacrifice his life to be honored and known. Someone can be one by his own little ways by just doing simple things that can mean the most to people.
        

             Teachers are persons who provide schooling for students. They are those who facilitate education for everybody. They are the men and women in profession who shoulder the most difficult task of providing a better education to the country’s future leaders. Others may sometimes see our teacher's job as simple or effortless but being a daughter of both educators, I say that doing their job may consume all of your powers everyday. All they do is to study to supply correct information to their students, check papers, finish grades on time and deal with stubborn students.  Doing their job is very hard but because of their good hearts to help others, they do it with selfless acts even if they only have very low amount of salary. In classroom scenario, the teachers are looked upon by students and pupils as their second parent. Though the teachers are lowly paid, yet they render service not only to students and pupils but also to the community. 

            And in danger and hard times, the hardworking school teachers are always there to give their utmost best to serve the community. 

            During elections, they serve as the election officials facilitating the voters from early morning until late in the afternoon. Serving during election can harm a person’s life but because of their love to their service and countrymen, they still go for it every year.   

           

            Recently, there are many teachers reported for being very good to their students. There are those who sacrificed their time, efforts and money just to give enough education. Teachers also extend their obligations for giving advises about personal matters. They influence their poor students by providing inspirational words. 

           

            Without the presence of our teachers, would the nation have its doctors, politicians, scientists, nurses, next teachers, writers, mathematicians, attorneys, fathers, mothers, psychologists and philanthropists? Everybody knows that no one can get anywhere these days without a decent education and that the nation's welfare depends on an educated populace. Teachers are more beneficial to our nation than anyone else even the overseas Filipino workers earning money of other countries. 

            For all of our beloved teachers, we honor, respect, love and thank you for all of your efforts and sacrifices. Thank you for being our heroes in every season. May God bless you a billion folds for your great actions!
